Job summary

Guardian is seeking an Actuarial Associate for its ALDP, designed to develop leaders with cross-functional business acumen. You will rotate departments every 18–24 months, perform financial and non-financial analyses, and recommend pricing improvements while supporting multiple initiatives across pricing and analytics.

The role emphasizes collaboration, data-driven decision making, and the ability to translate complex pricing considerations for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a math-based field.
• Regularly taking actuarial exams to pursue the Actuarial Fellow designation.
• Minimum of two years of actuarial work experience.
• Proficient in MS Excel and actuarial modeling/data visualization software.
• Ability to communicate pricing analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Use internal/external data to understand industry trends, clients, competitors, and regulatory environment.
• Complete assignments on time with minimal supervision.
• Execute rate development and state rate filings supporting pricing strategy.
• Provide actuarial support for product, underwriting, finance, and distribution pricing initiatives.
• Recommend and support new techniques to modernize pricing and improve accuracy.
