Job summary

The Summit Bechtel Reserve is seeking an Archery Instructor to lead and mentor participants in both classroom and range settings. You will ensure safety, manage equipment, and deliver high-quality archery programs while upholding camp policies and standards.

Ideal candidates are 18+, hold USA Archery Level 1, and have 1+ year of team leadership experience. Training is provided; housing and uniform details are handled on site.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• USA Archery Level 1 Instructor (training provided).
• 1+ year of leading teams; Summit employment preferred.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member with background screening.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily communication.

• 100% accountability of all equipment at all times.
• Maintains all equipment.
• Provides guests with top-tier archery programs and completes range tasks.
• Ensures range safety procedures are followed.
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area.
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership.
• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook.

Job description

Position Overview

Instill proper knowledge, skills, and attitude with participants. Provide high quality instruction, direct leadership, and mentorship in all archery venues.

• 100% accountability of all equipment at all times
• Maintains all equipment
• Provides guests with top-tier archery programs and completes range tasks
• Ensures range safety procedures are followed
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18+
• Required: USA Archery Level 1 Instructor (training provided)
• Required: 1+ year leading teams, prefer 1+ year Summit Employment
• Preferred: Experience in competitive shooting or hunting, any discipline
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
• Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
• Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
