We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dependable Activities Director to lead and coordinate engaging activities and programs for our residents.
The Activities Director is responsible for creating a welcoming environment where residents have opportunities for socialization, recreation, creativity, physical activity, and meaningful engagement. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, is organized and energetic, and understands that activities should be designed around the individual interests, abilities, and needs of our residents.
Create a monthly activity calendar that provides a variety of meaningful activities.
Offer activities throughout the day and during appropriate evenings or weekends when needed.
Ensure activities are appropriate for residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
Incorporate resident preferences, suggestions, birthdays, holidays, and special events.
Encourage residents to participate without making anyone feel pressured.
Get to know residents and learn about their hobbies, interests, careers, families, and past experiences.
Provide one-on-one engagement for residents who may not participate in group activities.
Encourage socialization and help residents maintain a sense of purpose and community.
Activities should include a balance of:

Religious/spiritual opportunities as appropriate

The Activities Director is expected to plan and coordinate special events such as:

Maintain accurate activity attendance records.
Document resident participation as required.

The Activities Director is expected to work as part of the entire community team and communicate effectively with:

Activities should be coordinated with other departments to ensure resident safety and minimize conflicts with meals, medications, appointments, and care needs.
