Job summary

Capstone Center is seeking a full-time Activity Aide to develop and run engaging programs that boost mental and physical health for residents. You will lead daily group activities, assist with transportation, and document attendance while providing meaningful one-on-one interactions.

The role emphasizes compassion, reliability, and teamwork within a warm nursing home environment. Training will be provided and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience in a long-term care facility.
• High school diploma.
• Interpersonal skills: a warm, patient, and energetic attitude when working with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Run daily group programs such as bingo, music hours, exercise classes, and arts and crafts.
• Transport residents to and from the activity room safely using wheelchairs or walkers.
• Set up and clean up chairs, tables, and equipment before and after events.
• Track attendance and keep daily records of participant numbers.
• Provide one-on-one visits with residents for conversation and engagement.
• Report changes in mood or behavior to nursing staff.

Activity Aide Job description:

• Run daily group programs like bingo, music hours, exercise classes, and arts and crafts.

• Transport Residents: Help residents get to and from the activity room safely using wheelchairs or walkers.

• Setup and Cleanup: Arrange chairs, tables, and equipment before events begin and pack them away afterward.

• Track Attendance: Keep daily records of who joins each event to measure resident participation.

• Provide One-on-One Visits: Spend time with roombound residents to offer conversation and personal engagement.

• Report Changes: Notice changes in a resident's mood or behavior and share updates with the nursing staff.
