Job summary

Complete Care at Shrewsbury is seeking an energetic Activity Aide to plan and lead daily recreational and social programs for residents. You will help create a welcoming, home-like atmosphere and provide one-on-one support as needed.

This role emphasizes caring for seniors, teamwork with nursing staff, reliable attendance, and the ability to organize engaging activities. Prior experience is preferred but training is available, and a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creative, dependable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Activities in coordinating and leading daily recreational, social, and therapeutic programs.
• Encourage resident participation and provide one-on-one support during activities as needed.
• Monitor resident engagement and communicate observations to the nursing team when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and activity documentation.
• Help decorate Complete Care at Shrewsbury for holidays, seasonal events, and special celebrations.
• Prepare activity materials and ensure activity spaces remain organized and inviting.
• Support community events and special programs that enhance the resident experience.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Activities or Administrator.

Activity Aide Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience as an Activity Aide or in a long-term care, healthcare, recreation, or customer service setting is preferred, but we are happy to train motivated candidates.
• Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
