Job summary

Complete Care at Shorrock Gardens is seeking an Activity Aide to help plan and lead daily recreational, social, and therapeutic activities for our residents. You will support engagement, assist with individual activities, and help maintain a warm, home-like environment.

We value energetic individuals who enjoy working with seniors, with a focus on compassion, creativity, and teamwork. Training is available, and benefits include PTO and insurance for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in Activity Aide or long-term care preferred but trainable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Activities in coordinating daily recreational programs.
• Encourage resident participation and provide one-on-one support during activities.
• Monitor engagement and communicate observations to the nursing team as appropriate.
• Maintain attendance records and activity documentation.
• Prepare activity materials and keep spaces organized and inviting.
• Support community events and special programs for residents.

Activity Aide Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience as an Activity Aide or in a long-term care, healthcare, recreation, or customer service setting is preferred, but we are happy to train motivated candidates.
• Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creative, dependable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills required.
• A genuine passion for enriching the lives of seniors.
• Bilingual preferred but not required

Activity Aide Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Activities in coordinating and leading daily recreational, social, and therapeutic programs.
• Encourage resident participation and provide one-on-one support during activities as needed.
• Monitor resident engagement and communicate observations to the nursing team when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and activity documentation.
• Help decorate Complete Care at Court House for holidays, seasonal events, and special celebrations.
• Prepare activity materials and ensure activity spaces remain organized and inviting.
• Support community events and special programs that enhance the resident experience.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Activities or Administrator.
