Job summary

AristaCare in New Jersey is seeking an Activity Aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, and spiritual activities tailored to each resident’s needs and care plan.

You will interview residents and families, support individualized activity goals, create a welcoming environment, and document participation. On-the-job training is provided; previous experience is a plus but not required, with competitive rates and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities, senior care, healthcare, recreation, or a related field is a plus but not required.
• On-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and facilitating individual and group activities for residents.
• Interview residents and/or family members to learn about their interests, preferences, and activity history.
• Involve residents and families in planning activities whenever possible.
• Support the development of individualized activity goals and objectives.
• Encourage resident participation and create a welcoming, positive environment.
• Observe and report residents’ participation, interests, and responses to activities.
• Assist with documenting activities and maintaining accurate resident records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

The primary purpose of the Activity Aide is to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual activities based on each resident’s needs, interests, assessment, and care plan. The Activity Aide helps create meaningful programs that promote socialization, engagement, relaxation, personal fulfillment, and independence in daily living.
