Job summary

AristaCare At Cherry Hill is seeking an Activity Aide to help plan, implement, and evaluate recreational and social activities for residents. You will interview residents, tailor programs to interests, and involve families when possible.

The role supports daily living, promotes independence, and requires a high school diploma. On-the-job training is provided, with competitive rates and benefits offered by AristaCare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in activities, senior care, healthcare, recreation, or a related field is a plus but not required.
• On-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and facilitating individual and group activities for residents.
• Interview residents and/or family members to learn about their interests, preferences, and activity history.
• Involve residents and families in planning activities whenever possible.
• Support the development of individualized activity goals and objectives.
• Encourage resident participation and create a welcoming, positive environment.
• Observe and report residents’ participation, interests, and responses to activities.
• Assist with documenting activities and maintaining accurate resident records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

The primary purpose of the Activity Aide is to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual activities based on each resident’s needs, interests, assessment, and care plan. The Activity Aide helps create meaningful programs that promote socialization, engagement, relaxation, personal fulfillment, and independence in daily living.
