Job summary

Juniper Village at the Spearly Center in Denver, CO is seeking an Activities Coordinator to support the Connections program, planning daily activities that promote leisure, physical and mental well-being for residents. You will collaborate with Wellness Associates, create monthly calendars, assist with transportation, and help deliver a home-like, inclusive environment for seniors.

This full-time role requires weekend availability and offers a starting wage of $19.29 per hour with daily pay

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher; a Bachelor's in Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, Gerontology, or related field preferred.
• Previous healthcare or service setting experience preferred.
• Must be at least 16 years old with a valid state driver's license.
• Knowledge of physiology and psychology of the older adult.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the Connections activity program for the community.
• Assist in planning and posting a monthly calendar of events, monthly newsletter and coordination of special events and programs.
• Assist in arranging and at times render transportation for the residents.
• Work closely with Wellness Associates for the implementation of Connections activity programs.

• Juniper Village at the Spearly Center is a skilled nursing facility specializing in mental and behavioral health so besides the typical Alzheimer's/dementia diagnosis, we cater to residents with schizophrenia, bipolar, TBI, failed suicide attempts, and more.
