Job summary

Sunset Health Care Center in Missouri seeks a compassionate Activities Assistant to plan and lead daily floor activities, using calendars to spark engaging events and prepare snacks for residents.

You will help set up dining rooms, maintain logs, and support other departments while ensuring safety and cleanliness. Weekend, holiday, and evening shifts are required to support resident well-being.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• NCCAP credits (6 college credits) preferred.
• 500 hours of experience in activity programming preferred.
• Certification as Occupational Therapy Assistant or NCCAP preferred.
• Must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
• Willingness to obtain CNA license.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, pre-plan and implement floor activities based on center activity schedule.
• Use monthly calendar ideas to plan and organize special floor activities.
• Prepare special snacks with residents.
• Set up the dining room tables for activities.
• Clean up after all activities.
• Complete required logs and charting.
• Keeping all activity areas clean, safe and free from clutter.
• Assist residents to and from common areas as stated by their care plan.
• Assist other departments with residents as needed and required.
• Weekends, holidays and evenings required.
