Job summary

Skyline Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant to support daily programs for residents, coordinating recreational, physical, social, and intellectual activities in line with care plans and regulatory requirements.

You will assist the Director of Activities in developing and directing a broad schedule of programs that promote independence, engagement, and well-being, while ensuring safety and compliance with facility policies during day shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of long-term care requirements and regulations.
• Completion of a training and competency evaluation program.
• Orientation required by company policy.
• Health screening and TB test (if required) within two weeks of employment.
• Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire.
• Criminal background check with no disqualifying activity.
• Evidence of identity and eligibility to work within three days of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct a program of activities offering entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression for all residents.

Activities Assistant Responsibilities

Assists the Director of Activities with planning, organizing, developing, and directing quality activities for patients, ensuring that the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of each patient are met in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Assists in providing an ongoing program to support patients based on the comprehensive assessment and care plan, preferences of each patient, and designed to meet the interests of and support the physical, mental, and psychosocial well‑being of each patient, encouraging both independence and interaction in the community.

Plan, organize, and direct a program of activities which provides opportunity for entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression and fulfills basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs which will be available to all residents of the facility.

Activities Assistant Requirements

• Knowledge and experience in long‑term care
• Completion of a training and competency evaluation program required

• Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check
