Job Description

Schedule: Saturday - Monday (9:30 am - 4:30 pm)

Job Summary: The primary purpose of the Activities Assistant is to aid in executing the programs and activities planned for residents.

The Activities Assistant must possess outstanding customer service skills, genuine care and concern for residents, and demonstrate MBK's principles and core values.

Responsibilities include attending and assisting in activities and events, decorating for holidays, surveying residents for interests, encouraging participation, and driving the community vehicle. Additionally, creating flyers, calendars, newsletters, updating social media, and assisting in marketing events are part of the role.

Maintain a professional image, exhibit tact and friendliness, and perform other duties as assigned by supervisors. Work with volunteers, including scheduling and organizing.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; AA degree preferred or two years of relevant experience
  • Background clearances as required by regulations
  • Must meet health requirements including TB testing
  • Basic math skills required
  • Must read and speak English fluently
  • Clerical skills including creating flyers, newsletters, social media updates
  • Reasoning and communication skills
  • Proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of residents' rights regulations
  • Ability to make independent decisions and remain calm in emergencies
  • Professional and tactful interaction with residents, families, and staff
Physical Demands:
  • Mobility to move throughout the community
  • Repetitive hand motions
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs, assist in moving residents in emergencies
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, bending, standing, sitting

Pay: $18 - $19/hr
