Job summary

Edmonds Post Acute in Edmonds, WA, is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and lead engaging programs for residents, including group games, music, and in-room activities for bed-bound individuals.

You'll tailor activities to each resident's interests and abilities, document participation, and support the social dining program, all while maintaining a safe, welcoming, homelike environment. High school diploma required; 1 year geriatric care preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in long-term/geriatric care preferred; prior experience leading activities a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with genuine empathy for residents and families.
• Comfort working with residents who are cognitively or physically impaired.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. and stay mobile/active throughout your shift.
• No license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead individual and group activities tailored to each resident's interests, abilities, and cultural or religious preferences
• Bring activities directly to bed-bound or room-confined residents (music, reading, visits, in-room projects)
• Adapt activities to different cognitive and physical ability levels using prompts, demonstrations, and hands-on assistance
• Help build and distribute the activity calendar
• Gather input from residents to keep activity plans current and personalized
• Keep activity spaces and supplies clean, organized, and 'homelike'
• Monitor for safety hazards and report maintenance issues promptly
• Support the social dining program
• Accurately document participation and updates in resident records
• Participate in fire/disaster drills and required in-service training

Help residents stay engaged, connected, and doing what they love. As an Activities Assistant at Edmonds Post Acute, you'll plan and lead activities that bring joy, purpose, and a sense of community to residents' daily lives. From group games and music to one-on-one visits for residents who can't leave their rooms. If you're creative, patient, and love working with seniors, this role is a great fit.
