Job summary

Valley View Care Center in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Activities Aide to lead daily life enrichment programs for residents. Your role includes group and one-on-one activities that promote physical and mental well-being, along with transporting participants to sessions and tailoring activities to individual histories.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of related experience in long-term care preferred.
• Associates in Music or Recreational Therapy preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering excellent care.
• You are a team player, dedicated to supporting your team members and getting the job done.

Responsibilities

• Lead group and one-on-one life enrichment programs.
• Encourage attendance and transport to life enrichment activities.
• Evaluate residents based on interests, abilities and needs.
• Develop and display themed and holiday decorations throughout the facility.

The Life Enrichment Activities Aide delivers and leads life enrichment programs every day. Our calendar is filled with amazing and creative activities that bring fulfillment and joy. These activities have the dual purpose of being therapeutic and promoting both physical & mental health and well-being. We are always trying new fun ideas. If you like to play games, listen to music and sing songs, and do arts & crafts -this position may be for you!

You will earn: $16.85 per hour!

• Starting Wages: $16.00 per hour

We need your help with these scheduling needs:

• Full Time or Part Time available
• All shifts include rotating weekends and some holidays
• Flex shift - Days and Afternoons, with 1 evening shift per week

How you will help people every day:

• You will assist and lead group and one‑on‑one life enrichment programs.
• You will encourage attendance and transport to and from life enrichment programs.
• You will evaluate patients according to their background, life enrichment interests, abilities, physical limitations, and needs for meaningful programs.
• You will develop and display thematic and holiday decorations throughout the facility.
• You will promote hospitality and excellent customer service in our every daily interaction with our guests, their families, and visitors. Through kind words and encouragement, you will promote a positive, healthy environment in which to heal and thrive.

What you will need to be part of ourEPICteam:

• 1+ year of related experience in long term care preferred.
• Associates in Music or Recreational Therapy is preferred
