Job summary

Valley View Care Center in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Activities Aide to lead daily life enrichment activities for residents. The role focuses on therapeutic, enjoyable programs that enhance physical and mental well-being and foster a caring, engaging atmosphere throughout the facility.

You will organize activities, encourage participation, and tailor programs to residents’ interests, while collaborating with staff to provide a supportive, warm environment for seniors.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of related experience in long term care preferred.
• Associates in Music or Recreational Therapy preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering care.
• You are a team player, dedicated to supporting your team.

Responsibilities

• Lead group and one-on-one life enrichment programs.
• Encourage attendance and transport to activities.
• Evaluate residents according to interests and needs for meaningful programs.
• Develop and display thematic decorations throughout the facility.
• Promote hospitality and a positive environment in daily interactions.

The Life Enrichment Activities Aide delivers and leads life enrichment programs every day. Our calendar is filled with amazing and creative activities that bring fulfillment and joy. These activities have the dual purpose of being therapeutic and promoting both physical & mental health and well-being. We are always trying new fun ideas. If you like to play games, listen to music, sing songs, and do arts & crafts, this position may be for you!

You will earn: $16.85 per hour!

• Starting Wages: $16.00 per hour

We need your help with these scheduling needs:

• Full Time or Part Time available
• All shifts include rotating weekends and some holidays
• Flex shift - Days and Afternoons, with 1 evening shift per week

How you will help people every day:

• You will assist and lead group and one-on-one life enrichment programs.
• You will encourage attendance and transport to and from life enrichment programs.
• You will evaluate patients according to their background, life enrichment interests, abilities, physical limitations, and needs for meaningful programs.
• You will develop and display thematic and holiday decorations throughout the facility.
• You will promote hospitality and excellent customer service in our every daily interaction with our guests, their families, and visitors. Through kind words and encouragement, you will promote a positive, healthy environment in which to heal and thrive.

What you will need to be part of our EPIC team:

• 1+ year of related experience in long term care preferred.
• Associates in Music or Recreational Therapy is preferred
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering Excellent, Passionate, Innovative care!
• You are a team player, dedicated to doing what it takes to support your team members and get the job done.
