You will package purchases, assist customers, stock shelves, rotate merchandise, and help train new clerks while maintaining store appearance and safety. This hourly role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and a positive, helpful attitude during all shifts.

Qualifications

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Work effectively as part of a team to keep the store clean and customers happy.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Package customer purchases and assist in transporting them to their vehicle.
• Bring carts in from the parking lot and cart corrals.
• Clean registers, restrooms, break room, and backroom; sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Clean can redemption area and empty recycle bins where applicable.
• Stock, face, and rotate merchandise; understand shelf tags and locations.
• Pull product forward on shelves to maintain a full, organized appearance.
• Check prices on products as needed.
• Maintain front end supplies including bags and receipt paper.
• Help train new courtesy clerks.
• Deliver product to customers and assist in other departments as requested.
• Shovel, salt, and sand walkways as needed.
• Work with teammates to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in other areas and take on special projects as assigned.
• Adhere to personal hygiene, dress standards, and Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
