Job summary

The SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) – Office of Mental Health in Spartanburg is seeking a Counselor II to join the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. You will deliver evidence-based services, support IPS employment goals, and provide psychosocial rehabilitation to adults with serious mental illness in a community setting.

Responsibilities include vocational assessment, job development, benefits counseling, and on-site support to promote stability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences.
• Experience in human services or social services programs.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients on the ACT team and build collaborative relationships toward competitive employment.
• Perform vocational assessments and job development aligned with IPS.
• Manage caseload up to 20 and maintain medical record documentation.
• Provide benefits counseling and connect to experts.
• Offer on-site support to promote stability and success.
• Serve as consultant on IPS and participate in team meetings.
• Provide Psychosocial Rehabilitative Services within IPS.
• Adhere to policies including HIPAA and CARF.
