Job summary

The SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) – Office of Mental Health in Spartanburg, SC, is seeking a Mental Health Professional I to join the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. You will provide evidence-based services in a non-residential setting and support patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) in a high-need community.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in guidance, counseling or social sciences or related field.
• Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) in SC or Master Addiction Counselor required or preferred.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and track stages of treatment.
• Ensure services align with client stages of change and treatment plans.
• Facilitate access to 12-step programs and community groups.
• Provide direct services using CBT approaches and relapse prevention; use motivational interviewing.
• Lead person-centered planning for beneficiaries; participate in supervision and team meetings.
• Complete documentation per QA/SCDMH standards and ensure timely prior authorizations.
