Job summary

First PREMIER Bank seeks an ACH Operations professional to ensure accurate processing of incoming and outgoing ACH transactions. You will monitor daily transmissions, identify discrepancies, and support internal departments and customers with inquiries.

Responsibilities include secure file transfers, escalation of anomalies, and collaboration with teams to maintain smooth ACH processing and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in banking operations, financial systems, or regulatory compliance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures incoming and outgoing ACH transactions (direct deposits, bill payments, vendor payments, government benefits) are processed accurately and on time.
• Monitors and validates daily ACH file transmissions; compare client transmittal forms with ACH balances.
• Identify and escalate discrepancies indicating potential fraud or irregular processing.
• Collect electronic ACH files from customers via secure file transfer protocols (SFTP).
• Transfer files to holding folders, initiate processing through the ACH engine, and ensure secure transmission to ACH operator (The Clearing House).
• Assist internal departments or customers with ACH-related inquiries via phone or email.
• Identify errors in ACH files and raise to management for approval.
• Share information clearly with clients and team members, verbally and in writing.
• Accurately process and review information to avoid errors.
• Evaluate information, detect patterns, and solve problems logically.
• Prioritize tasks and manage workload to meet deadlines.
• Take initiative and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
