Job summary

Sentara Patient Accounting/Norfolk, VA is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage daily revenue cycle tasks for accounts receivable. You will follow up with patients, primary, secondary, and tertiary payers, and handle requests, clarifications, and denials to ensure timely resolution.

The role includes monitoring monthly write-offs, performing charge corrections, and reconciling claim files. A strong focus on accuracy and timely communications is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' insurance claims or medical billing experience required.
• Diploma/Certification in medical Insurance Billing and Coding, in lieu of the years of experience.
• Epic strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily revenue cycle accounts receivable tasks and follow-up with patients and payers.
• Manage and resolve upfront edits and denials; prepare appeals when needed.
• Monitor monthly write-offs, perform charge corrections, and reconcile claim files.
• Support timely responses and resolution of payer requests for assigned areas.
