Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in Houston, TX is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to work under the Office Manager, handling the collection and maintenance of charge accounts in accordance with company policy.

You will communicate with customers by phone, email, or in person to arrange payments, monitor aging, prepare reports, and support monthly closings while collaborating with the team to keep receivables current and accurate.

Qualifications

• Proficient with MS Office, with emphasis on Excel summarizing aging/past due accounts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, especially over the phone.
• Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Great organizational and multi-tasking skills; detail oriented.
• Experience pressing into action collection efforts.

Responsibilities

• Process customer payments according to company policy.
• Monitor customer accounts for non-payment, skipped invoices, and partial payments.
• Provide regular communication to management regarding collections status.
• Organize a recovery system and initiate collection efforts.
• Complete monthly and quarterly closing statements and create reports.
• Contact customers to arrange payments via phone, email, mail, or in person.
• Perform reference checks of credit applications and report findings to management.
• Investigate and resolve customer inquiries on time.
• Submit accounts to management for bad debt write-offs.
• Fax or email invoices to customers for payment.
• May perform other general office functions.
