Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in Salt Lake City is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk who reports to the Office Manager. This role manages the collection and maintenance of all charge accounts per company policy, and uses strong communication to resolve A/R issues.

Responsibilities include processing customer payments, monitoring non-payment, providing regular updates to management, initiating collection efforts, and completing monthly and quarterly closings.

Qualifications

• Proficient with MS Office, with emphasis on Excel for aging/past-due reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, especially telephone skills.
• Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities; detail oriented.
• Experience in advancing collection efforts and understanding general business procedures.
• Accurate data entry and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Process customer payments according to company policy.
• Monitor accounts for non-payment, skipped invoices, and partial payments.
• Provide regular communication to management on collections status.
• Organize a recovery and initiate collection efforts.
• Complete monthly and quarterly closing processes and create reports.
• Communicate with customers to arrange payments on delinquent accounts.
• Perform reference checks of credit applications and report findings.
• Investigate and resolve customer inquiries in a timely manner.
• Submit accounts for bad debt write-offs as needed.
• Fax or e-mail invoices to customers for payment.
• Perform other tasks as required.
