Saint-Mary is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage payments, deposits, and student accounts with accuracy and timeliness. You will work with the Accounting Manager to ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls within a school finance setting.

The role involves daily cash handling, journal entries, reconciliations, and collaboration with families, staff, and departments to maintain precise financial records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years accounts receivable, bookkeeping, cash-handling, or accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in a school or nonprofit environment a plus.
• Experience using general ledger and tuition management systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, record, and process payments and funds.
• Post deposits and cash receipts accurately and timely.
• Process tuition, fees, financial aid, and student accounts.
• Prepare journal entries for AR, deposits, and corrections.
• Research discrepancies and resolve routine issues.
• Monitor receivables and assist with collections.
• Assist with month-end close and reconciliations.
• Maintain internal controls and documentation.
• Support audits and respond to CPA requests.
• Provide high-quality service to families, employees, and departments.
