Accounts Receivable (A/R) - Donor & Revenue Accounting

A mission-driven organization based in Santa Monica is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional to support donor and revenue accounting. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, values accountability, and understands the importance of maintaining trust and transparency in donor-funded environments.

Position Overview

This role is responsible for managing and tracking incoming funds, including donor contributions and pledges. Working closely with both Finance and Development teams, you will ensure all contributions are accurately recorded, properly classified, and aligned with donor intent. Your work will directly support the integrity and reliability of financial reporting and donor records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record and track all incoming contributions, including restricted and unrestricted funds
  • Maintain accurate donor records and general ledger classificationsTrack pledges and monitor fulfillment against commitments
  • Reconcile donor records with fundraising systems and reports
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy
  • Process and record cash receipts in a timely manner
  • Support donor and internal reporting related to contributions
  • Assist with grant tracking and reporting as funding sources expand
  • Contribute to month-end close activities for revenue and receivables
  • Maintain organized documentation for audits and financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and donor requirements
  • Support process improvements and system enhancements
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting, accounts receivable, or a related field
  • Nonprofit accounting or donor tracking experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
