Job summary

CPG Talent Management LLC's client, a global manufacturer of precision industrial equipment, seeks an Accounts Receivable Specialist to own invoicing, collections, cash application, and reconciliation for a diverse customer base.

Based in the Chicago Northwest Suburbs, IL, you will partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to fix billing issues, reduce DSO, and support month-end close.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounts receivable experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Hands-on collections experience, comfortable with direct customer calls and dispute resolution.
• Experience with AR to GL reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close.
• ERP experience and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or equivalent AR experience.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle priorities around close.

Responsibilities

• Apply customer payments accurately and keep account records clean and current
• Work the aging report: follow up on past-due balances, resolve disputes, and bring DSO down
• Reconcile AR to the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and support month-end close
• Review customer payment history and credit to support credit decisions
• Partner with Sales and Customer Service to fix billing issues at the source, and support audits as needed
• Spot process gaps and help tighten controls and efficiency in the AR function
