Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare and send accurate customer invoices in a timely manner.
• Apply customer payments, including checks, ACH, and credit card payments.
• Review accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue balances by phone and email.
• Process new customer credit applications and maintain accurate customer records.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, unapplied cash, and customer disputes.
• Send customer statements and respond to billing and payment inquiries.
• Assist with accounts receivable reconciliations, aging reports, and month-end activities.
• Provide backup accounts payable support, including entering vendor bills and matching invoices to purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate financial records while supporting multiple business entities.

About the RoleWe’re looking for an organized, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone with accounts receivable, billing, customer service, or administrative experience who wants to grow their accounting skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. Previous accounts receivable experience is helpful, but we’re open to candidates with transferable experience and a willingness to learn. A college degree is not required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous accounts receivable or collections experience.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Acumatica, or another accounting system or ERP.
• Experience with manufacturing, construction, property management, or building-products billing.
• Familiarity with lien waivers or contractor billing..
