Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Manager, Accounts Receivable & Inventory Control to lead AR and Inventory Control teams at the Phoenix Home Office. The role emphasizes collaboration with stores, IT, and cross-functional partners to ensure accurate billing, collections, and inventory reporting.

You will direct close activities, drive process improvements, and support cross-functional initiatives in a hybrid work environment with in-office presence most days. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years accounting/finance experience in a high-volume corporate environment.
• 1+ years of prior team leadership preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, sum-ifs, data validation).
• Experience researching and resolving complex issues with clear insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and performance of team members and career progression.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable and related financial operations, including billing, collections, cash application, vendor allowances, PVS, and close activities.
• Direct accounting and reporting for store physical inventories and live pet cycle counts, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Manage and improve physical inventory processes, event planning, and cross-functional coordination.
• Oversee accounting close activities, including journal entries, accruals, variance analysis, and ledger reconciliations.
