Job summary

Illinois Tool Works, Inc. is seeking an Accountant to join the Lincolnshire, IL accounting team onsite. You will drive financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and decision support to transform data into business insights, collaborating with teams across the organization.

You will support month-end close, reconciliations, and tax reporting while ensuring data integrity and timely reporting. A solid foundation in accounting and ERP experience will help you succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 1–2 years of broad accounting experience (3–5 years preferred).
• Cost accounting experience in manufacturing is highly preferred.
• ERP and financial reporting software experience is required.
• Computer proficiency, including MS Excel and MS Word, is required.
• Ability to analyze financial information and communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes, account reconciliations, and prepare annual tax reporting.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, maintain/reconcile ledger accounts, update and report on department budgets.
• Provide sales and inventory analysis reports to support the division.
• Provide timely data through ad-hoc reporting for managers to aid decision-making.
• Ensure data integrity; monitor and analyze financial performance to provide insights to management.
