Job summary

The J in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Specialist for Collections & Accounts Receivable to manage AR for program activities and ensure all payments are recorded accurately and timely. You will follow up with customers to update payment information and address past-due accounts.

You will prepare monthly invoicing for all program departments, monitor aging, and ensure proper designation for checks and electronic deposits in the accounting systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word and 10-key by touch

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers to address payment inquiries and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Prepare and send monthly invoicing for all program departments.
• Monitor AR aging reports to identify outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments.
• Determine receipt designation for checks and electronic deposits to ensure proper recording in systems.
• Process manual journal entries into the general ledger.
• Prepare and analyze general ledger reconciliations including bank accounts.
• Cover duties of other team members in the accounting department.
• Prepare audit support schedules and assist with other projects as requested.
