Job summary

Civic Partners Group in Alexandria, VA is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist who will own accruals, deferrals, and journal entries from day one. You will sit beside the controller to support internal controls, budgeting, and strategic planning for finance leadership.

You will build budgets and forecasts, prepare variance analyses, and provide ad hoc analyses for the CFO while maintaining strong banking relationships and treasury operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with modern IFRS workflows and tooling.
• Resilience measured across 3 years of finance cycles.
• Familiarity with ACA and related tools or frameworks.
• Comfort owning the unglamorous middle of a part-time project.
• At least 3 years building expertise within the finance space.
• Demonstrated comfort presenting to mid-level leadership.
• A collaborator who makes the mid-level review feel less like an exam.

Responsibilities

• Sit beside the Alexandria controller on accruals, deferrals, and journal entries
• Generate ad hoc reports combining Internal Controls and Strategic Planning for finance leadership
• Manage banking relationships and optimize treasury operations
• Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for Civic Partners Group
• Build variance commentary executives actually read top to bottom
• Field the candidly-kind ad-hoc analysis the CFO needs before Monday
