Job summary

Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX seeks an Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP team and ensure accurate, timely payments to vendors. You will supervise staff, coordinate task schedules, and verify invoices against POs and packing slips, while maintaining records and supporting the Controller.

Qualifications

• College coursework in Accounting (6+ credits) or equivalent.
• At least 6 years in Accounts Payable management; 3 years in AP if no college.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Accounts Payable staff.
• Coordinate task schedules and verify payment accuracy.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and packing slips.
• Verify invoices for quantity, unit price, extensions, and discounts.
• Assign account numbers and vendor codes for proper distribution.
• Enter invoices and set payment dates per vendor terms.
• Prepare and review checks, wires, and ACH payments.
• Route invoices with checks to CFO/Administration for signatures.
• Maintain and organize all AP files and records.
• Maintain Excel-based balances and notify CFO of funding needs.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Warehouse on spending.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with vendors and Moody Gardens staff.
• Coordinate inventory account entries with receiving departments.
