We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will serve a leadership role in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of company AP transactions in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and corporate standards.This role will report to the Assistant Controller and supervise a staff of Accounts Payable Specialists to assist the organization in achieving its financial goals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervises the accounting staff who are responsible for AP invoice entry, payment processing and approval routing.
• Assists in the hiring process for AP Specialists and their performance evaluations, including training new staff and identifying training needs for current staff.
• Enforces and identifies gaps in internal AP controls and guidelines for accounting transactions to mitigate risk.
• Supports the Accounting Management with periodic and quarterly corporate financial reporting, budgeting and other tasks as needed.
• Ensures accuracy in AP entries, that they are posted to the correct GL accounts and departments, with proper documentation.
• Ensures that the approvals and source documents for AP entries are properly archived and easily retrieved.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned, in support of continuous improvement efforts.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business Administration or related field of study required.
• Three years or more of related Accounts Payable/Accounting experience required.
• Excellent supervisory skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in accounting software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
