Job description

The Account Executive - Sales Team Lead is a hybrid role combining direct sales responsibilities with leadership and coaching. This individual is responsible for meeting or exceeding sales quotas by selling Tyler software products and services within an assigned territory. As a trusted advisor, the Account Executive guides prospective clients through the sales process, setting clear expectations around product capabilities and implementation.In addition to their individual contributor role, the Sales Team Lead will serve as a Player-Coach, working closely with a small group of Account Executives to develop talent, drive performance, and foster a high-achieving sales culture. This role plays a key part in Tyler's revenue growth and team development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed individual sales targets through strategic prospecting, relationship building, and solution-based selling.
  • Successfully builds relationships with targeted audiences to sell Tyler products and services.
  • Generates sales within assigned strategic accounts and/or geographic territories.
  • Manages long and complex sales cycles from lead generation to close of sale.
  • Lead prospective clients through the full sales lifecycle with a consultative approach and strong understanding of Tyler's software and services.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across marketing, pre-sales, and implementation to support successful deal closure.
  • Coach, mentor, and support a small team of sales professionals, providing guidance on pipeline development, territory strategy, and deal execution.
  • Help onboard and ramp new team members, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
  • Analyze team performance data, provide feedback, and assist with refining sales strategies and processes to drive continual improvement.
  • Serve as a role model by maintaining high levels of activity, professionalism, and customer focus.
  • Available to travel up to 50%.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience selling products and services to Local Government.
  • Proven track record of success in enterprise software or B2B sales.
  • Previous experience working in a sales CRM required.
  • Proven ability to conduct discovery/needs analysis with prospective clients and develop a successful action plan.
  • Must possess a competitive drive and results-oriented approach.
  • Previous experience building, mentoring, or leading sales teams, formally or informally.
  • Strong understanding of consultative and solution-based selling.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with public sector or government technology sales is a plus.
  • Must possess general computer (PC) literacy and proficiency with MS Office products.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
State-Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements

Salary will generally fall between $53,081 - $80,000 before adjustment for geographic differences. Recruiter can confirm if position is incentive eligible.
