Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in Houston to manage vendor invoices, data entry, and payments using SAP, VIM, and Kofax Capture. You will maintain AP records, support monthly closings, and ensure adherence to DOA policies.

Ideal candidates have an AA degree or 3+ years in AP, strong accuracy, and the ability to coordinate with vendors and internal teams. This is an on-site role based in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Two-year college/technical school preferred; or 3+ years related experience.
• Experience in high-volume AP environments with defined performance expectations.
• Strong concentration on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with teammates, vendors, and internal customers.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and stay organized.
• Reliable attendance during specified work hours.
• Overtime may be required during accounting cycles.

Responsibilities

• Batch and prepare vendor invoices for import or scan into AP workflow.
• Utilize Kofax Capture to validate and input invoice data.
• Perform basic research in SAP software.
• Use VIM for AP workflow tasks.
• Create/update Microsoft Excel files.
• Handle AP inquiries from plants and vendors.
• Process invoices outside of VIM and manage payments (Check, ACH, Wire) including voiding checks in SAP.
• Print, file, and maintain AP documents and reports.
• Assist in monthly closings as needed.
• Maintain compliance with AP policies and DOA.
