Job summary

UCP Long Island in Hauppauge, NY is seeking an accounts payable bookkeeper to manage vendor payments, code invoices, and maintain accuracy in our Great Plains accounting system. You will interact with staff and vendors to ensure timely processing and compliance with internal controls.

Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Accounting or two years of accounting experience, and preferred Not-for-Profit experience. High school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting or 2+ years of AP experience.
• Not-for-Profit experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate vendor records and coding.

Responsibilities

• Open accounts payable mail and prepare bills for payment.
• Match invoices with purchase orders for verification.
• Prepare voucher packages for items with and without purchase orders.
• Code transactions to GL accounts and process checks in Great Plains.
• Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Review AP aging and research discrepancies.
• Assist with journal entries and 1099/vendor setup.
