Job summary

UCP Long Island is seeking a staff accountant to support the finance department with contracts, billing, journal entries, and reconciliation. The role covers fringe reporting, grant documentation, and budget preparation for year-end audits.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in accounting and at least four years of related experience in a not-for-profit setting. Benefits include medical/dental coverage, pension plans, vacation time, and tuition reimbursement.

• Minimum of four years related accounting experience.
• Experience in Not-for-Profit industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and monthly closing processes.
• Review health insurance bills and allocate to payroll when needed.
• Assist with annual budgets, CFR preparation and audits.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and reconcile to GL quarterly.

We remain committed to our goal of Creating Life Without Limits for People With Disabilities!We are seeking a staff accountant for our finance department to assist with:Billing/Vouchering for various contracts including Suffolk County Deficit Funding, OPWDD, ACCES-VR.Journal Entries are made monthly to record the accounts receivable on the contracts.Review of health insurance bills is done monthly to insure that the bills correspond with the payroll. Monthly Journal Entry is prepared to allocate as such.Preparation of NYS Gas Tax refund forms on a quarterly basis. Refund is calculated based on gallons and cost of fuel purchased during the quarter.Capture of Food Stamp revenue for the IRA participants and preparation of the corresponding Journal Entry.Review of ISS Grant recipients’ documentation and check requests.
