Lenox Hill Neighborhood House in New York, NY is seeking an Accountant – Accounts Payable to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, this role focuses on processing vendor invoices, coding for payment, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.

This position offers growth opportunities within a historic nonprofit; responsibilities include supporting financial reporting, budgeting, audits, grant compliance, and more as part of our multiservice program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Minimum of two years’ experience required
• Sound knowledge of general and nonprofit-specific accounting principles and procedures
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIFS Functions)
• Nonprofit accounting experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable using Financial Edge Software
• Maintain relationships with key vendors
• Analyze invoices, code and process for payment
• Perform other key programmatic accounting functions as needed
• Provide support in the areas of financial reporting, annual budgeting process, audits, grant compliance and financial operations
• Prepare and process journal entries
• Reconcile credit card transactions
• Prepare and file 1099
