Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund in Bronx, NY seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and strengthen the organization’s AP function in a high‑volume, not‑for‑profit setting. The role requires hands‑on accounting, staff supervision, and ensuring invoices are properly coded and supported.

You will manage the AP cycle end‑to‑end, maintain internal controls, work with Budget, Contracts, Procurement and senior management, and support government‑funded programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounts payable/accounting experience with high-volume AP operations.
• Not-for-profit or government-funded environment experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department and supervise AP staff.
• Oversee end-to-end AP cycle: receipt, review, approval, posting, payment, and reconciliation.
• Maintain strong internal controls over payments and vendor changes; ensure compliance with contracts and funding rules.
