Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support invoice processing and related system transactions. You will assist with training and provide technical guidance to associate staff while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

You will handle purchase-to-pay activities, reconcile invoices, and monitor the AP mailbox, contributing to efficient workflows and strong internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Work experience: 3 years in an accounts payable environment.
• Experience with an automated invoice platform.
• Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.
• Knowledge of general ledger reconciliations and month-end closing.

Responsibilities

• Enter and reconcile inventory invoices in the accounts payable system.
• Participate in new procedures to improve workflow and processes.
• Process benefit management decisions in SharePoint and related vouchers.
• Monitor the accounts payable mailbox to meet service levels.
• Process stop pays and issue copies for claim checks.
• Ensure internal controls and identify discrepancies for management.
• Close monthly and yearly periods for accounts payable accurately.
• Serve as back-up and train junior staff.
