Aston Carter is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract role based in Carteret, NJ. The role supports full-cycle AP, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliation, and timely payments within a high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate has experience with AP, PO matching, and ERP systems such as NetSuite or SAP, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality in financial processing. This position is fully onsite in Carteret, NJ.

Qualifications

• Experience in full-cycle accounts payable including invoice processing and payments.
• Vendor reconciliation and proper general ledger/cost center coding.
• Proficiency with two-way/three-way PO matching and invoice approvals.
• Experience handling high-volume AP workloads (200+ invoices/week).
• Ability to use ERP systems and accounting platforms.
• Experience with NetSuite or SAP or similar ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and approvals.
• Enter invoices into AP system and ensure authorization requirements are met.
• Process and record vendor payments per schedules and controls.
• Reconcile transactions by verifying entries and balances.
• Analyze invoices to ensure correct accounts and cost centers.
• Monitor discounts and optimize cash flow with timely payments.
• Verify vendor information and maintain accurate vendor records.
• Investigate discrepancies and maintain supporting documentation.
• Issue stop-payments or PO amendments as needed.
• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial data.
• Report issues to AP Supervisor promptly.
• Participate in training and development to enhance skills.
• Assist other finance tasks as needed.
