Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an Accounting Specialist in Philadelphia, PA for a contract-to-hire role. You will join a growing finance team and focus on accurate accounts payable processing, vendor communications, and timely payments in line with policy.

This is an on-site position. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in accounting, proficiency with Excel and accounting software, strong GAAP knowledge, and meticulous attention to detail to support month-end close and audits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable.
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments per policy.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable including PO matching and approvals.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Support financial reporting and audits as needed.
• Collaborate with procurement and operations to resolve billing inquiries.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows.
