Job summary

STARC of Louisiana, Inc. in Slidell, LA is seeking an Accounts Payable Technician for a full-time role, Monday–Friday. You will set up vendors, review invoices, code expenditures, and process and file payments while maintaining vendor records and compliance with STARC policies.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience, strong Excel/Word skills, and the ability to work with accuracy and confidentiality in a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in accounting preferred or high school diploma with 3+ years experience in accounts payable or general accounting
• High level proficiency with desktop computers, networking, and office software including accounting and payables tools
• Experience in nonprofit or government accounting is desirable

Responsibilities

• Set up new vendors in A/P system and gather required information
• Review and edit accounts payable invoices for accuracy and compliance
• Code expenditures based on vendor history and STARC policy
• Enter invoices into A/P system for payment and process weekly/monthly payments
• Prepare and file 1099 and 1098 forms; maintain vendor files and communications with vendors
