Graybar is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to safeguard company assets by ensuring accurate and timely review, audit, and payment of vendor invoices and employee reimbursements. The role handles high volumes and requires strong communication with suppliers and internal departments.

The position offers 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday in Chesterfield, MO, with benefits including a stock ownership plan and comprehensive health options.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Accounts Payable experience
• 4-year degree preferred in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Marketing/Business Administration
• Experience with SAP and intermediate Excel skills
• Understanding of debits and credits related to AP
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to handle confidential information and communicate clearly

Responsibilities

• Handle high volume supplier and internal inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
• Monitor AP email queues and respond/escalate as needed.
• Determine vendor numbers, payment dates and cash discount terms for invoices.
• Identify and reconcile variances between PO and vendor invoice.
• Assist suppliers with payment portals and questions.
• Address debit balance issues to impact profitability.
• Review invoices with complex cost allocations and handle manual payments.
• Audit expenses for state tax charges and accrue when needed.
