West Bay RI is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in Warwick, RI. The role focuses on accurate payables, timely vendor payments, and supporting payroll and accounting tasks.

You will review invoices, process payments, and maintain AP records in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of AP or accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Sandata and digital reporting systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 5–10 years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Sandata and digital reporting systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review invoices for accuracy, proper documentation, and required approvals before processing payments.
• Process invoices and prepare and distribute checks and electronic payments (EFT/ACH).
• Reconcile credit card statements and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
• Prepare weekly manual deposits and garnishment checks.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records, reports, spreadsheets, and filing systems.
• Provide backup support for payroll processing and other departmental financial functions.
• Record and distribute SSI/SSA checks.
• Support Food Stamp/EBT administration by verifying allotments, maintaining records, monitoring usage, preparing vendor vouchers, and processing DHS applications.
• Provide administrative and accounting support to the Accounting Manager, CFO, and Payroll Coordinator as needed.
