Job summary

Cherokee Indian Hospital is seeking an Accounts Payable support specialist to coordinate invoice approvals, review documentation, and ensure timely payments. You will assist in maintaining accurate AP records and support a transition to new accounting software.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in accounting and experience in AP, procurement, or finance, with strong attention to detail and communication skills for cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required.
• Experience in accounts payable, accounting, procurement, or finance required.
• Working knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable processing.
• Familiarity with procurement processes, internal controls, and contract terminology.

Responsibilities

• Sends invoices through the required approval process and follows up for timely payment.
• Reviews supporting documentation to verify accuracy before payment.
• Compares invoices to contracts, PO terms, pricing, quantities, and approvals.
• Ensures compliance with CIHA procurement policies and internal controls.
• Maintains complete accounts payable records in the accounting system.
