Fit Recruiting partners with a well-established company in Mobile, Alabama, to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team. This role takes ownership of the company’s accounts payable function while supporting additional accounting tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting foundation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with ERP software and Excel is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable process, including reviewing, coding, and processing vendor and subcontractor invoices.
• Prepare and manage weekly check runs and ensure payments are processed accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain vendor records and assist with resolving invoice discrepancies and payment questions.
• Manage the company’s corporate credit card programs, including receipt collection, expense coding, reconciliation, and documentation.
• Assist with business licenses, property tax filings, and annual report filings.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with account reconciliations and other month-end accounting activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Work closely with internal departments and outside vendors to resolve accounting-related questions.
• Support the accounting team with special projects and additional accounting or operational responsibilities as needed.
