Job summary

CV Resources, in partnership with our client, a fast-growing manufacturer, seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a three-month contract. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, this role will own day-to-day accounts payable processing while the Accounts Payable Manager leads a procure-to-pay system implementation.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will manage a high volume of invoices, code accurately to the GL, and ensure timely payments as the company grows and the P2P system

Qualifications

• Two+ years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Experience in high-volume AP environments.
• Ability to code invoices to general ledger accurately.
• Experience with item-based Purchase Orders and 3-way matching.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices (~250/week) accurately and on time.
• Code invoices to GL accounts, departments, and projects.
• Process PO invoices and perform 3-way matching.
• Manage invoice approvals and payments.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and incentives with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Support month-end close and system implementation.

JOB DESCRIPTION

CV Resources, in partnership with our client, a fast-growing, PE-backed manufacturer, seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a three (3) -month contract. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, this role will own day-to-day accounts payable processing while the Accounts Payable Manager leads a procure-to-pay system implementation. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in processing a high volume of invoices, coding invoices accurately to the general ledger, and keeping payments timely during a period of growth and system change.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

Accounts Payable Processing

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices (approximately 250 per week) accurately and on time.
• Code invoices correctly to the appropriate general ledger accounts, departments, and projects.
• Process item-based purchase order invoices and perform 3-way matching against Purchase Orders and receipts.
• Manage invoice approvals and payments.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, missing approvals, and vendor inquiries.
• Reach out proactively to vendors, buyers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and keep invoices moving.
• Support the Accounts Payable Manager and accounting team during month-end close and the P2P system implementation.
• Maintain organized Accounts Payable records and documentation.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

Required

• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (required due to ITAR regulations).
• At least two (2) years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Proven ability to code invoices accurately to the general ledger.
• Experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment, including item-based Purchase Orders.

Preferred

• Prior employment in a manufacturing company.
• Experience with 3-way match.

SKILLS OF THE ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

• Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
