Job summary

Waste-Pro is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in Baton Rouge, LA to manage AP transactions, invoices, POs, accruals and vendor records. You will ensure accurate payments and contribute to monthly financial data.

The role requires 2–4 years AP experience, a degree in accounting or related field, and strong MS Office + AP software familiarity. Join a team focused on timely payments and vendor relations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or combination of coursework and experience indicating required accounting and accounts payable knowledge.
• 2–4 years Accounts Payable experience and ability to communicate knowledge and understanding of AP accruals.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with financial/accounting software packages/systems (e.g. DSL-Solomon, Dossier, Tower, SAP, Great Plains, PeopleSoft, Ceridian).
• Commitment to continuous improvement of quality and timely project delivery.
• Oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain purchase order logs or systems and coordinate proper PO approvals.
• Assist maintenance personnel with software that tracks purchase orders, purchases, expenses, etc., and transfer data into the GL/AP system.
• Process invoices by reviewing, verifying coding and approvals, reconciling to POs and entering invoices into the AP system.
• Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all invoices are processed for payment.
• Research and resolve problems by reconciling invoice discrepancies with vendors and within the AP system.
• Maintain good relations with vendors.
• Assist Regional AP Clerk in reconciling invoices, POs and operating systems for large expenses.
• Assist Regional AP Clerk in calculating monthly AP accruals.
• Provide clerical, administrative and operational support including accounting support, operations, and customer service.
