Job summary

New Fortress Energy Inc. in New York seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee daily AP operations and supervise the AP team, collaborating with Procurement, Treasury, and Accounting to ensure a smooth procure-to-pay workflow.

You will drive timely invoice processing, vendor communications, month-end close support, and 1099 reporting while strengthening controls in a mid-to-large organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 7+ years Accounts Payable experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of procure-to-pay processes and vendor payments.
• ERP experience, preferably Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, approvals, and vendor payments.
• Supervise and support the AP team, ensuring workloads are prioritized and deadlines are met.
• Manage recurring invoices and payments (rent, utilities, leases, consultants, etc.).
• Serve as primary contact for vendor inquiries and internal stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
• Prepare vendor statement reconciliations and resolve differences.
• Assist with month-end close activities and AP-related journal entries.
• Support IRS 1099 reporting and audit requests.
• Maintain organized AP documentation and imaging.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls.
