Job summary

RHF is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP Department and support more than 200 affordable housing, development, and corporate entities. This exempt, full-time role reports to the VP of Accounting and is based at the Long Beach, CA location.

The role emphasizes overseeing daily AP operations, cash management, vendor administration, and internal controls, with a focus on process improvements and staff development. Strong leadership and deep AP expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including high-volume processing.
• Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with ERP systems and computerized accounting software.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Accounts Payable operations, establish departmental priorities, monitor workloads and payment activity, resolve processing exceptions, review cash reports, and ensure compliance with procedures and internal controls.
• Oversee cash allocation and payment scheduling, coordinate payment priorities with Operations, manage vendor issues, approve vendor setups and banking changes, and maintain vendor records.
• Oversee month-end close for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, review vendor statements, resolve unpaid invoices, coordinate critical payments, and prepare management reports.
• Oversee Forms 1099 and 1096 filings, W-9 documentation, unclaimed property reporting, and other regulatory requirements; coordinate audit support.
